James and Alexa Hirschfeld, brother and sister joint CEOs and co-founders of New York-based online invitations startup Paperless Post have announced that they have succeeded in conscripting $25 million in Series C round funding.
The funding round was headed up by Singapore based investment company August Capital with additional participation coming from existing investors Mousse Partners, RRE Ventures, SV Angel, Tim Draper and Ram Shriram. August Capital ‘s Tripp Jones will be joining the Hirschfeld’s on the board of Paperless Post.
Founded in 2008, James and Alexa Hirschfeld, both of whom are Harvard graduates. Paperless Post provides its users with the facilities to design and create custom invitations online and either e-mail them or send them through snail mail, through their recently launched printing service “PAPER”.
Paperless Post currently boasts close to 50 million users and intend to increase that number considerably, through utilizing some of the latest round of funding to invest in developing their mobile and online capabilities as well as expanding their international activities, initially in English-language markets.
According to James Hirschfeld, Paperless Post was established with the goal to become the new protocol for valuing social communication, regardless of the medium.

Paperless Post was founded to provide online event invitations designed to give the appearance of being real-life formal communication, as well as providing tools for its users to track responses to the invitation.
Since their foundation Paperless Post has expanded the extent of their services, primarily with the launch of their premium stationary printing service late in 2012, as well as entering into collaboration agreements with such leading brands such as fashion trend setters as Oscar de la Renta and Jonathan Adley.
In the five years since their founding, Paperless Post have increased their work force to more than seventy, and have shipped more than 100 million custom invitations.
