Etan Cohen

Etan Cohen, one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming screenwriters has made his  debut as a film director, working with two of Hollywood’s hottest stars Will Ferrell and  Kevin Hart in the  comedy “ Get Hard, ”.

In Get Hard, Will Ferrell plays James King  a wealthy investment bank manager who is framed for a white collar crime and sentenced to a long stretch in the maximum-security wing of San Quentin prison, with just 30 days to get his affairs in order before the prison gates close on him for a very long time.

In fear of how the rest of the prison inmates, not known for their friendliness to white-collar criminals,  King, prompted by his fiancee, played by Alison Brie,  approaches an ostensibly streetwise car wash worker Darnell Lewis, played by Hart  to help him  to toughen up and “ Get Hard”  for a long spell behind bars.

Unfortunately for  King,  Darnell Lewis (Hart)  is not the tough nut ex- con that he appears, in fact, he is a hard-working member of the community who has never received as much as a parking ticket, and  never seen the inside of a  prison. An excellent comedy of errors situation which Ferrell, as ever, makes the best of, ably abetted by Kevin Hart and Alison Brie, who was only added to the script at the last minute by Cohen, to add some romantic interest.

Get Hard is scheduled to open nationwide on in the spring of  2015.
