Jordan Farmar chose the right evening to score a career record 30-points with the highlight being a second half 3-point barrage to help his team, the LA Lakers defeat the Sacramento Kings 126-122 on Friday at the Staples Center.
The Lakers finished the first half with an 11-point deficit , but in the second session, inspired by Farmar’s performance they hit 14 3-pointers, running up a total of 19, a team record for a single game. Farmar was responsible for five them, meaning that he broke yet another personal record, of eight 3-pointers in a single game.
Mike D’Antoni, the La Lakers head coach was effusive in his praise for Jordan, stating that it was his performance that brought the team back into the game for a much needed victory for the Lakers, who are going through a very tough season, having won only one out of their last seven matches, and that has lost 20 or more games by double-digit margins so far this season.
Jordan Farmar was born and raised in Los Angeles and was always regarded as having a lot of promise to make it at the highest level of basketball. While still in high school, Jordan was named the Los Angeles Times High-School Player of the Year for season 2003–04, and while attending UCLA, he was also picked out as National Freshman of the Year for the following season.
In the season 2006 NBA draft, Jordan Farmar, aged just twenty, was selected in 26th position by the Los Angeles Lakers, remaining with them for three seasons, two of which were championship winners, before spending a season with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2011 season, moving on to play for Anadolu Efes in Turkey for season 2012/2013, before returning home to play for the Lakers in 2013.
