Doroni Aerospace, Inc., a leading startup in personal electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has secured a $30 million strategic investment from Innovation Wings Industries (IWI), operating as Kingdom Aero Industries (KAI). This funding marks a major milestone in advancing the H1-X eVTOL aircraft, positioning Doroni for a 2026 commercial launch.
eVTOLs are aircraft that use electric power to take off and land vertically. This capability allows them to operate in urban environments with limited space, making them ideal for air taxi services. They aim to provide a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient alternative to traditional helicopters and ground transportation. In essence, eVTOLs are poised to revolutionize urban air mobility, offering a new way to travel within and between cities.
As part of the agreement, Doroni and KAI will establish a joint venture in Saudi Arabia to manufacture and distribute the H1-X eVTOL globally, starting in 2027. The partnership will significantly expand Doroni’s international market presence and accelerate eVTOL adoption. Formalization of the agreement is expected in the coming months.
