Aporia is an Israeli startup that offers an artificial intelligence AI observability platform that lets developers monitor their AI tech and keep it safe. Aporia boasts that it is the first company to offer deep customization capabilities for model monitoring with full support for public cloud and managed-on-prem, allowing data science teams to build the exact monitors they need for their use cases. Aporia is used by multi-billion dollar companies for monitoring billions of daily predictions and maintaining data integrity. Founded in 2020, Aporia is backed by TLV Partners and Vertex Ventures.
BeeHero is an Israeli aggrotech startup that develops technology to save bees. If the bees were to become extinct, then the world’s plant life would die out. Sure, most people think that bees exist to provide us with honey. But honey is just a bi-product of the bee’s main function. Bees are an integral part of pollination, aiding in the reproductive process of all manner of flora and fauna.
BeeHero was founded by a team of veteran beekeepers, serial entrepreneurs, renowned biologists, and data scientists to ensure that everyone wins: farmers, beekeepers, and nature. The company explains that 70% of crops worldwide rely on bees, whose increasing mortality rate, coupled with colony collapse disorder, puts financial strain on farmers and beekeepers. This makes it harder to feed an exponentially growing global population.
D-ID is an Israeli startup that offers AI-driven creative media services. Founded in 2017, D-ID’s Creative AI enables the automagical transformation of any picture or video into extraordinary experiences. Our technology is used by leading marketing agencies, production companies, and social media platforms globally.
D-ID uses AI and deep learning to develop reenactment-based products ranging from animating still photos to developing high-quality digital avatars. D-ID’s wide range of customers includes Warner Bros. Studios, Mondelez, Publicis and MyHeritage, whom D-ID partnered with to create the viral sensation Deep Nostalgia, which has created nearly 100M animations since its launch, and more recently, LiveStory, which enables the creation of AI-generated biographical videos narrated by photos of users’ ancestors.
UVeye is an Israeli startup that uses artificial intelligence AI in the development of automated vehicle inspection systems. Founded in 2016 by CEO Amir Hever and his brother Ohad, UVeye offers automated vehicle inspection systems based on advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for both the automotive and homeland security industries. UVeye systems are increasing the speed and quality of inspection processes on assembly lines, as well as at new- and used-car dealerships, used-car auction houses and major vehicle fleets, as well as security checkpoints around the world.
To compile this year’s list, Time Magazine solicited nominations from its editors and correspondents worldwide. Then, it evaluated each contender on key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.
“The result is a list of 200 groundbreaking inventions (and 50 special mention inventions)—including the world’s largest computer chip, a humanoid robot joining the workforce, and a bioluminescent houseplant—that are changing how we live, work, play, and think about what’s possible.”
