Israeli startup Prime Security launched its AI-powered solution designed to revolutionize the software development lifecycle. By integrating security measures into the earliest stages of design, Prime empowers security teams to proactively identify, prioritize, and mitigate potential risks before a single line of code is written.

Prime’s innovative approach eliminates the traditional friction between security and engineering teams by leveraging AI to analyze product intentions and deliver actionable security guidelines to all stakeholders. This ensures that products are inherently secure from the outset, realizing the vision of “Secure by Design.”

The Prime design-stage security solution is now available in private beta, offering organizations the opportunity to experience firsthand the transformative benefits of this cutting-edge technology.

Prime Security secured $6 million in seed funding led by Foundation Capital with participation from Flybridge Capital Partners and prominent angel investors. Prime will use the funds to accelerate R&D and expand their sales and engineering teams across their Tel-Aviv and New York offices.

As the frequency and severity of security incidents continue to rise, there is a growing recognition that security must be a core consideration throughout the entire product development lifecycle, particularly during the design phase. Regulatory bodies and industry standards are increasingly aligning with this imperative.

For example, NIST and ISO guidelines emphasize the importance of integrating security controls into the early stages of development, while the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) advocates for a “data protection by design and default” approach. This shift towards “secure by design” principles underscores the need for proactive security measures that anticipate and mitigate risks before they can materialize.

“Our customers, from mid-market to enterprise, recognize the need for a new design-stage security approach that reduces product cyber risk and accelerates business,” said Prime co-founder & CEO Michael Nov. “Traditionally, design-stage security has been handled manually, but recent AI advancements make our approach scalable. Security teams can now gain early and full visibility into development risks, scaling assessments tenfold without adding staff while maintaining compliance. We see our product as the first step toward comprehensive, preventative, security across applications and infrastructure.”
