Fresh from standing up to the BDS bigots over her role as brand Ambassadress for healthy drink maker Sodastream, the New York Post reports that Scarlett Johannson has just plunked down around US$2 million for a new pad on the beach in the Hamptons, the nearby playground where New Yorkers go and relax on weekends.

Listed by brokers Douglas Elliman for US$2.2 million, the house is now reported on their web site as sold and the deal as closed.

Details of the listing itself make the house indeed sound quite idyllic; the shingled beach house sits on 1.4 acres of very private land in the Amagansett dunes with deeded ocean access, adjacent to the Peconic Land Trust preserve and the pristine expanses of Napeague State Park.

Cool and airy, the home features a loft-like and spacious floor plan, with wide pine floors and easy access through sliding doors to the endless decking and sun-soaked pool area.” Etc. etc. etc.

Here are some gorgeous pictures to go with it; the simplicity and comfortable minimilism is striking.
