Bill Ackman, the billionaire activist investor who runs Pershing Square Capital, certainly does not believe in having all of his eggs in just one basket. However, Ackman does have a large share of his eggs in the same basket as his Pershing Square, with 50% of its money invested in just three different firms, and holds investments in just seven different companies. Bill Ackman has also been a very vocal supporter of Israel these days.
Why does Ackman stand with Israel? As he explained, there are many reasons from the fact that he is Jewish to the fact his wife is Israeli, and three “I care about the country; four, I feel like Israel needs our support more than ever; and five, I’m in a position to be helpful.”
“I think there are bad things going on in the world, but good comes from the bad. I said this about October 7. I think one, it has brought the Jewish community globally together more so than ever before, and I think that’s a good thing. Two, I think it’s a wake up call for Israel to resolve all the internal stress,” Bill Ackman, told Israel’s financial publication Calcalist. “If AI doesn’t kill us, it will save us. Look at this weekend (referring to Iran’s attack on Israel): Israeli technology saved the country. What country wouldn’t want what Israel has?”
