Watch out Intel! Hailo, an Israeli unicorn that makes computer chips, just raised another $120 million in its Series C fundraising round. The company has now raised $340 million to date.
Halio hit the coveted unicorn status with more than a $1 billion valuation in 2021 after it raised at that time a paltry $100 million.
Israel Startup Nation is known for many things. One is that it is home to the research and development teams of many international firms. And the country is even host to chip manufacturing plants for Intel. So, such high-tech items are not only made in southeast Asia or India.

Co-founded in 2017 by Orr Danon and Avi Baum, previously CTO for wireless connectivity at the microprocessor outfit Texas Instruments, Hailo boasts that its AI processors feature high compute power at a high power efficiency and cost efficiency. One small, low-power and self-contained chip can process high-resolution videos in real-time or multiple video streams and neural network models simultaneously, all within a small power budget and rigid heat dissipation constraints.
Halio’s product portfolio includes a portfolio of AI accelerators that integrate with edge platforms, empowering real-time deep learning inference tasks on the edge, and a range of AI vision processors which incorporate Hailo’s leading AI inferencing capabilities with advanced computer vision engines, to empower smart cameras with unprecedented AI capabilities.
“The closing of our new funding round enables us to leverage all the exciting opportunities in our pipeline, while setting the stage for our long-term future growth. Together with the introduction of our Hailo-10 GenAI accelerator, it strategically positions us to bring classic and generative AI to edge devices in ways that will significantly expand the reach and impact of this remarkable new technology,” said Hailo CEO and Co-Founder Orr Danon. “We designed Hailo-10 to seamlessly integrate GenAI capabilities into users’ daily lives, freeing users from cloud network constraints. This empowers them to utilize chatbots, copilots, and other emerging content generation tools with unparalleled flexibility and immediacy, enhancing productivity and enriching lives,”
