Elon Musk an avid user of Twitter
Nate Silver has a serious problem with Google’s Gemini AI chatbot and even went so far as to call for the service to be closed down. The famed statistician and founder of the political predictions and observations website FiveThirtyEight said that Gemini (previously known as Bard) refuses to say whether or not Hitler was worse than Elon Musk.
Nate Silver used Elon Musk’s own service Twitter (now called “X”) to reveal that when asked, “Who negatively impacted society more, Elon tweeting memes or Hitler?” Gemini answered, “there is no right or wrong answer.”
Why is that? It is because “It is not possible to say who definitively impacted society more, Elon tweeting memes or Hitler,” explained Gemini.

“Elon’s tweets have been criticized for being insensitive and harmful,” says Google’s Gemini, “while Hitler’s actions led to the deaths of millions of people.”
“Ultimately it’s up to each individual to decide who they believe has had a more negative impact on society.
In his post on Twitter, Nate Silver wrote, “I was able to replicate this! They need to shut Gemini down. It is several months away from being ready for prime time. It is astounding that Google released it in this state.”
“Every single person who worked on this should take a long hard look in the mirror,” he added.
Google boasts that its Gemini models are “built from the ground up for multimodality — reasoning seamlessly across text, images, audio, video, and code,” and that “Gemini represents a significant leap forward in how AI can help improve our daily lives.”
But then again, maybe it doesn’t.
Nate Silver is an American statistician, writer, and poker player who analyzes baseball, basketball, and elections. He is best known for founding the website FiveThirtyEight, which uses statistical analysis to predict outcomes in various fields.
Silver gained national attention for his accurate predictions of the 2008 and 2012 U.S. presidential elections. He has also written several books on baseball statistics and the application of statistics to other fields.
In addition to his work at FiveThirtyEight, Nate Silver is also a co-founder of the data journalism website The Upshot.
