If You Want to Lose Belly Fat – Eat Fish

Fish

Belly Fat is the worst kind of fat. It also seems to be the hardest to lose. But there is good news – eating certain types of foods like fish can help you burn it away.

The Mayo Clinic explains that belly fat is more dangerous than other fats because it is not limited to the layer of padding just below the skin. That’s called subcutaneous fat. Belly fat also includes visceral fat. And that lies deep inside the abdomen and surrounds the internal organs.

Regardless of a person’s overall weight, having a large amount of belly fat raises the risk of high blood pressure, an unhealthy amount of fat in the blood, heart disease, high blood sugar and diabetes, stroke and an early death from any cause.

Nichola Ludlam-Raine of Nic’s Nutrition told iNews, “Visceral fat, unlike subcutaneous fat, accumulates deep within abdominal cavities and poses serious health risks including increased risks of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers.”

So, what should we do about this?

Try eating foods like Kimchi. A staple food in Korean cuisine, traditionally made with fermented napa cabbage and Korean radish, it’s a spicy, savory, and slightly sour dish that’s packed with flavor and probiotics. It is a fermented vegetable dish, typically made with napa cabbage and Korean radish. Other vegetables that can be used include cucumber, scallions, and garlic. The vegetables are brined in a saltwater solution and then fermented with a lactic acid bacteria culture. This fermentation process gives kimchi its characteristic sour and spicy flavor.

Kimchi is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It’s also low in calories and fat. Most importantly, the fermentation process creates probiotics, which are beneficial for gut health.

Try eating more avocados. Avocados are a good source of monounsaturated fats, which can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. They are also a good source of fiber, which can help to promote gut health and regularity. Avocados are also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium.

Finally, try eating more fish, especially Salmon.

“Fish is one of the few animal foods consistently linked to health benefits, and salmon is at the top of my list when I recommend fish to people,” said Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, a distinguished professor and the director of the Food is Medicine Institute at Tufts University, told the New York Times.

This is related to the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish.

As the Mayo Clinic explains, Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids — a type of fat that makes your blood less likely to form clots that may cause heart attacks. Omega-3s may also protect against irregular heartbeats that may cause sudden cardiac death, and they help decrease triglyceride levels, decrease the growth of artery-clogging plaques and slightly lower blood pressure. In addition to containing omega-3s, salmon is low in saturated fat and cholesterol and is a good source of protein.
