Joyned, an Israeli startup that offers a software-as-a-service SaaS platform that helps retailers provide social shopping experiences directly to their consumers, raised $8 million to complete its Series A round of funding led by Reach Markets, an Australian private equity and financial services company.

Jonathan Abraham, CEO of Joyned, said the company is proud to have received the funding from “leading funds,” including Reach Markets, Sentor Investments and Velocity Ventures, along with Lucerne Investment Partners.

Founded in 2017, Joyned enables customers to book trips, vacations, and holidays together, making the travel booking experience collaborative. It provides a cross-website, live experience for online shoppers, empowering travel sites of all sizes to own their shoppers’ natural social engagements directly on-site.

Joyned boasts that it offers the only social marketing platform that allows merchants to “own the entire shopper journey and helps them leverage natural social engagement for better business results”. The company says that it empowers retailers to capture and grow their customers through social media on their own sites, reducing reliance on third-party social media platforms, and generating unique customer insights through real-time analyses of shopping behavior.

“With Joyned, online retailers can offer their customers a way to seamlessly connect, share ideas and complete their paths to purchase, while providing shoppers with the ability to shop collaboratively on their favorite ecommerce and shopping sites.”

The technology allows travel brands to own their clients’ social engagements and boost conversion rates. The artificial intelligence-based revenue platform by Joyned helps to point out data including price perception and sentiment analysis too, allowing for sites to have a more comprehensive look at their customers’ booking journey.

“The platform we have developed addresses the travelers’ need to experience the holiday booking process together,” said Joyned CEO Jonathan Abraham. “We are the first to bridge the gap between users’ desire for shared experiences and the possibility of doing so. Together with our partners, we are making a significant difference to the global hospitality industry, which is expected to roll over $4.6 trillion by the end of the year.”
