Nochi Dankner refuses to accept Tel Aviv District Court Judge Eitan Orenstin’s decision to transfer control of IDB Holding Corp. Ltd. (TASE:IDBH) to Argentinian Eduardo Elsztain and Moti Ben-Moshe. On Wednesday, he will file a motion with the court for a new hearing on the case and for Orenstein’s decision to be voided.A source close to Dankner told “Globes” that the motion would be “a powerful document with new information of great public interest.” He apparently means new information about Elsztain and Ben-Moshe.
Judge Orenstin ordered the transfer of control of IDB on January 5, affirming his decision from two weeks earlier take control of IDB away from Dankner as requested by the company’s bondholders. When transferring the company, he told Elsztain and Ben-Moshe, “Be careful. We’re not just talking about your money. This is public money in the balance and you bear a heavy responsibility. If you have problems, turn to the court. Good luck.”
Dankner heard the decision with a poker face. After the hearing, he told the media, “I feel bad. Justice was not done.”
