floLive is an Internet of Things (IoT) 5G connectivity Israeli startup offering a hyperlocal global cellular data network. The company just raised $47 million in a Series C round of funding co-led by Greenfield Partners and existing investor 83North. Saban Ventures, the investment firm started by Israeli mogul Haim Saban, also invested.

Founded in 2015, floLIVE offers advanced 5G network solutions, both privately and over the cloud, and a full suite of global cellular connectivity services for IoT use cases. The company boasts that they are changing the game for Mobile Operators, IoT Service Providers and enterprises, by “challenging traditional networks and IoT solutions, and getting IoT up and running faster, more flexibly, and with more control.”

floLIVE operates the first and largest hyperlocal global cellular data network, based on local POPs in dozens of locations worldwide. With the largest global connectivity library of its kind, we provide centrally managed, localized connectivity for any device, anywhere. Global means no limits on where you do business; local means low latency, high performance, and full compliance.

A global hyperlocal cellular data network is a network that provides cellular data coverage across the globe, but with localized performance. This means that devices connected to the network will experience the same high-quality performance regardless of their location, even in areas with poor cellular reception.

This is achieved by using a combination of technologies, such as local breakout points (PoPs), which are small, distributed network nodes that provide local connectivity. This allows the network to optimize performance for each device, based on its location.

This is a really strong vote of confidence from our existing investors as well as new investor Greenfield Partners, reiterating the value of our solution, especially during a tough economic climate where technology investments have been decreasing substantially,” said Nir Shalom, CEO, floLIVE. “We have already transformed the landscape of global IOT connectivity with our hyperlocal, global platform that addresses the needs of both OEMs and MNOs. We’re excited to use this investment to increase our global footprint and deliver more value to our customers.”
