WalkMe Making More Layoffs and Electronic Arts Closing Israel Operation

WalkMe

WalkMe, an Israeli firm that provides website navigation and digital adoption solutions, is laying off 112 people. And in another example of how Israel Startup Nation is still suffering along with everyone else from the continuing worldwide financial crunch, U.S. gaming giant Electronic Arts EA is shuttering its Israeli R&D center in Caesarea, which is based on what was Israeli startup GameFly. Electronic Arts acquired Gamefly in 2018.

Founded in 2011 by CEO Dan Adika and company president Rafael Sweary as a guidance and navigation tool, WalkMe declares its mission is to make digital adoption for employees and customers simple, while increasing enterprise productivity. Its Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) began as a platform-agnostic guidance system to simplify user experience. But, explains WalkMe, due to the needs of their customers, they have since developed new ways to identify and engage users across platforms and devices.

WalkMe states that its cloud-based Digital Adoption Platform enables organizations to “measure, drive and act to ultimately accelerate their digital transformations and better realize the value of their software investments.” Its code-free platform leverages a proprietary technology to provide visibility to an organization’s Chief Information Officer and business leaders, “while improving user experience, productivity and efficiency for employees and customers. Alongside walkthroughs and third-party integration capabilities, our platform can be customized to fit an organization’s needs.”

In January WalkeMe let go of another 43 employees.

“We are more determined than ever as the DAP market leader to build a strong, sustainable business, even as we face strong macroeconomic headwinds. The path to profitability and long-term growth is paved with difficult decisions that we need to make in order to ensure our collective success,” Dan Adika, CEO of WalkMe, explained in a blog post. “We took actions this week to create a leaner, more efficient organization that better reflects our near-term growth expectations, while setting us on a path to profitability and long-term growth. We have made the painful decision to reduce our workforce by 112 employees, representing approximately 10% of our organization, in order to meet our current business needs, better equip us for future scale, and deliver the utmost value to our customers.
