The Benjamin Netanyahu Medallion – Must See It to Believe It

Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu Medallion (from website)

Benjamin Netanyahu now has his very own commemorative medallion. His supporters were seen wearing what was described by some as a declaration of support in the party leader at a party conference Sunday night.

The medallion is available for sale in either Gold or silver. The gold medal will cost you about $30.

The website calls it “A special necklace for true Bibi lovers – women and men alike.”

“The symbol of loyalty – a necklace that symbolizes the return of the true Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Prime Minister,” it says. “As more supporters wear the chain the left will realize we are still here and not going to give up!”

“Order the symbol of loyalty now and join the hundreds of Israelis who already wear it with pride.”

What a great idea! A way to honor the dear leader and the man who has already served as prime minister of Israel longer than anyone else – 15 years in total.

The medallion is being promoted at a time when the Likud Party is seeing serious infighting over its list of candidates for the Knesset elections coming in November. It is also being promoted at a time when Benjamin Netanyahu himself is facing the possibility of being convicted in his corruption trial.

Heidi Moses, a candidate for the Likud Party’s list in the upcoming Knesset election, explained to Israel’s Channel 12 “Mako” news why she wore the medallion. “It’s not unusual. We’ve seen things like this with the Queen of England as well.”

“The idea of the necklace is cool and stunning,” she stressed. “I think that as we have moments of Rabin, Ben-Gurion, and more … I did not understand why everyone is scared of a piece of the chain.”

But not every Likud person feels the same way. Former cabinet minister and senior Likud party leader Yisrael Katz was so embarrassed at having worn it that he took to Twitter to explain that someone put it around his neck without asking.

“I removed it immediately without knowing at all what the necklace was,” he said. “I would not have referred to such a curiosity if it had not been tweeted about in the media.”
