The drop in investments in Israeli startups is not severe as on Nasdaq

A preliminary report released by IVC-LeumiTech on investment in Israeli startups during the first half of 2022 found that the situation is more moderate than the downward correction on Nasdaq.

The most notable trend since the summer of 2021 has been a decline in the number of first investments from new investors in startup funding rounds in advanced growth stages, Series B and Series C and later. Here, the pattern has been a steady recovery to the initial investment levels observed at the beginning of 2020, before the COVID pandemic’s onset.

The decline in the number of investments in Israeli startups is less severe than the Nasdaq’s 23 percent decline since the beginning of 2022. The number of follow-on investments is also still pretty high. Even though investors are less willing to take risks on new startups, they haven’t given up on the businesses they already own.
