Build-A-Bear sells teddy bears and other stuffed animals. And it also offers consumers the ability to design their own bears and get them personally tailored. Well, now the company has a naughty new series for grownups called “After Dark” bears.
The new bear series is coming out just in time for St. Valentine ’s Day which will be in two weeks. Build-a-Bear says of its new bears, “Wink, wink –our Gift shop is full of gifts for adults too! Shop Build-A-Bear After Dark for unique gift ideas that are sure to get you hugged.”
Will you offer us a hand? Every gift, regardless of size, fuels our future.

Don’t worry! Build-a-Bear is not selling naked teddy bears or ones engaged in explicit behavior of some sort, God forbid. But the company tells consumers that teddy bears are not just for kids and the idea has always been to offer adults something that they would like. And what kind of sicko would want to get sexually explicit teddy bears anyway? There are already way too many gross things out there on the Internet and the world does not need to hear about anything more.
Also for Valentine’s Day, Build-a-Bear offers: “Bring imagination to life! Experience the Make-Your-Own fun by adding stuffing and taking part in our one-of-a-kind Heart Ceremony. Personalize your furry friend with outfits, accessories, sounds & scents! It’s the most fun you’ll ever make!”

And February is also Black Histroy Month in the U.S. So, Build-a-Bear has a special campaign for that too. In a Tweet the company said, “Black History Month celebrates the achievements of Black Americans throughout US history. We’re committed to diversity, equity & inclusion, and a portion of proceeds of these featured tees will go to Build-A-Bear Foundation to support organizations committed to DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion.)”
Now, this may sound a bit too serious for a teddy bear company. But as Build-a-Bear says, “Who said stuffed animals were just for the kids? Why should they get to have all the fun?”
