The rent is too damn high! That was both the name of a political party and the mantra of New York State gubernatorial candidate Jimmy McMillan back in 2010? Now an apartment in New York City is going for $2,200 a month along with a shower in the living room.
That’s right! This apartment comes with hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and even a nice fireplace in the living room. And it also offers a nice little shower right there in the middle of the living room. Oh, and the toilet, thank God, is located in an actual bathroom, albeit a tiny one.
Well, at least there is a shower. So the tenant does not have to go somewhere else to shower. And, believe it or not, with the high cost of living in New York, especially in Manhattan, this apartment is actually a steal.

But maybe this was all deliberate. Maybe this is the start of a new social trend, what with the spread of diseases like Covid. A guest comes over for a visit, first maker him shower. Make the shower open in view of the host so that he can be sure that the person actually does wash everywhere.
