Pricilla Chan, better known as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s Wife, gave the world some insight into their family life in an interview with England’s Sunday Times Magazine. In the interview, she opened up about the couple’s family life and spoke out on the controversies surrounding Facebook and Instagram.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan first met when they were both students at Harvard. Chan is a pediatrician by profession and together with her husband runs the established the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative in December 201. At the time the couple pledged to transfer 99 percent of their Facebook shares, which were then valued at $45 billion.

Chan did not convert to Judaism before she married Zuckerberg in 2012 and identifies as a Buddhist. The couple, however, is raising their two daughters, Maxima, five and August, four, as Jewish, but while incorporating some Chinese traditions into their lives. Chan told the Sunday Times Magazine that the family makes a Shabbat dinner every Friday night and that she makes Chinese dishes that they serve together with kosher food. Mark also says a Jewish prayer to their kids every night before they go to bed, but he recites it in Mandarin.

Their daughters may only be four and five years old, but Chan says that they are already learning how to code. Their father teaches them.

Priscilla Chan told the magazine, “Sometimes they will read books together. Sometimes they’ll code together. Mark has been doing that with August since she turned three.”

But Chan won’t let her kids use Facebook until they are at least thirteen years old. She may be concerned about all of the recent revelations over how bad Facebook and Instagram are to the emotional wellbeing of young girls.

Facebook and Instagram recently promised to implement new changes. This was done in response to the uproar over the testimony before the U.S Congress by whistleblower Frances Haugen, a former product manager at Facebook. Haugen revealed that Facebook knew that its and Instagram’s services could be harmful to the emotional wellbeing of teenagers.

Facebook said that it will cut down on the political material that users receive in their feeds and that the company will instead concentrate more on filling feeds with the social posts made by other users.
