Adaptive Shield Raises $30 Million

Adaptive Shield
Adaptive Shield, an Israeli cybersecurity startup providing SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) services, raised $30 million in a series A round of financing led by New York-based global private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners.

Check Point explains that Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) automates cloud security management across diverse infrastructures. These include Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Instant computing infrastructure, provisioned and managed over the internet; Software as a Service (SaaS): Mechanism for users to connect to and use cloud-based apps over the Internet; Platform as a Service (PaaS): The complete development and deployment environment in the cloud, with resources that enable you to deliver everything from simple cloud-based apps to sophisticated, cloud-enabled enterprise applications.

According to Check Point, CSPM tools empower companies to identify and remediate risks through security assessments and automated compliance monitoring. After moving to the cloud, many organizations mistakenly assume their cloud hosting provider is entirely responsible for security. This mistaken belief leads to data breaches and other security mishaps.

Adaptive Shield explains that even though SaaS providers have been improving their native security capabilities and controls, each has its own security model and settings. This makes maintaining a consistent policy across platforms, business units and user groups an uphill battle.

Adaptive Shield says that its SaaS Security Posture Management Suite (SSPM) removes the burden and risk of SaaS misconfigurations by providing “deep visibility and remediation for potential risks caused by misconfigurations and misappropriated privileges.” In September, SSPM was named one of the “4 Must-Have Technologies That Made the Gartner Hype Cycle for Cloud Security, 2021.”

“Expecting security teams to stay on top of SaaS Security misconfigurations without a proper SSPM solution in place is like expecting a bodyguard to protect an invisible person. Deep visibility and continuous maintenance of SaaS security hygiene is crucial to keeping the company secure” said Maor Bin, CEO and Co-Founder of Adaptive Shield. “Thanks to this latest round of funding, we will be able to further evolve our SSPM offering while extending our reach to meet growing demands from businesses around the globe looking to increase their SaaS usage while eliminating any risk.”
