Dubai based SJM Group and INMED, an Israeli medtech startup which offers an end-to-end digital health platform, are teaming up. The two firms are set to create a digital health platform for remote patient management in Dubai. SJM Group Chairman, H.H. Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum and INMED founders Dr. David Morel and Mashi Kadar announced the new partnership.
This is just another example of how the Abraham accords, the peace deal signed last summer between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, has been paying off major dividends for both countries. Millions and millions worth of deals have been signed by businesses and investors from the two nations in less than a year since the peace deal was signed, and this is in spite of the worldwide Coronavirus recession.
Israel is known as the startup state or Startup Nation. The country has had multi-billion dollar exits for numerous software and security companies. But Startup Nation is also known for its medtech startups. Israel has always been a center for medical research and innovation. Now put that together with its startup culture and you have medtech nation.
