Israeli startup SAM Seamless Network is a network security/cybersecurity company for both consumers as well as small and mid-sized businesses – SMBs. It has raised $20 million in Series B funding. The company says that it will use the funds to enable its expansion of its security reach, from currently protecting 2 million networks and 70 million devices globally, to securing 10 million networks and 500 million devices by the end of 2021.

Founded in 2016 by CEO Sivan Rauscher, CTO Eilon Lotem and Shmuel Chafets, SAM Seamless Network is a cybersecurity technology platform that protects the connected home, by tackling cyber security threats at the source. The company explains that the network gateway is the nexus of all communication between IoT devices. By effectively securing this critical access point SAM declares that it enables ISPs to ensure their customers can embrace the connected home safely and securely.

Startup Nation is known for its security companies. The Israel Defense Forces’ vaunted 8200 cyber security unit produces many new high tech security experts. With the Corona Virus forcing everyone to work from home, communicate through applications like Zoom and use all manner of software as a service programs on line security is more important than ever.

And people need to be concerned with cybersecurity in the privacy of their own homes more than ever because they use Wi-Fi networks more and more. These are ripe for hackers, especially those in public places like coffee shops and libraries. Even if you do not work with sensitive information from home you can still have your personal information, including bank accounts and credit card numbers, stolen by hackers.

SAM’s software-only solution makes it simple for enterprise grade security to be deployed into any home router remotely. “We react immediately to any new vulnerabilities in real-time, protecting all networks and devices. This allows end-users the freedom and confidence to add as many IoT devices into their home without adding security risks,” says the company.

SAM boasts that its solution is proven to provide Telco’s with new revenue streams by enriching their value proposition for their customers by providing network visibility, management abilities, and parental control for all connected devices.

“With an increase of at-home devices and with more people across the globe gravitating towards independent or remote work, SAM can be used as an enterprise-grade security solution for SMB and home networks,” said Tammy Mahn, Managing Director of Verizon Ventures. “Verizon Ventures looks forward to supporting this seasoned team as they continue to keep consumer devices safe and stand as a leader in software-based cybersecurity.”

“With its powerful and intuitive AI technology, SAM Seamless Network addresses the unique challenges of our hyperconnected world where an explosion of IoT devices exposes potential attack surfaces for companies and consumers alike,” said Anooj Shah, Senior Director, Investments and Strategy for Blackberry. “We are excited to build upon our existing partnership with SAM Seamless Network and support both their market expansion and their mission of delivering simpler network cybersecurity to protect offices and homes.”
