A Zodiac Killer message has finally been decoded after 51 years. The famed serial killer who terrorized the San Francisco Bay area back in the early 1970s was known for sending encrypted notes. While the content of this one message has finally been revealed we still have no idea who her, or she, really was.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that David Oranchak and a team of mathematicians successfully decoded one such message which the newspaper received in November 1969 known as the 340 Cypher. It reads, “I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me. I am not afraid of the gas chamber because it will send me to paradise all the sooner because I now have enough slaves to work for me.”
The FBI confirmed this, but does not see any new evidence here as to the Ziodiac Killer’s true identity.

“The Zodiac Killer terrorized multiple communities across northern California and even though decades have gone by, we continue to seek justice for the victims of these brutal crimes,” the FBI spokeswoman Cameron Polan said in the statement given to the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, and out of respect for the victims and their families, we will not be providing further comment at this time,” she added.
The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who murdered at least five people. His murder spree ran from the late 1960s to the early 1970s and American never found out who he was. Like Jack the Ripper he may remain a mystery for generations.
The killer was given the name Zodiac Killer because of encrypted letters and cards he sent to the press.
The plot of the First Dirty Harry movie with Clint Eastwood which came out in 1974 is said to be based loosely on the Zodiac Killer’s story.
Jake Gyllenhaal,Robert Downey Jr.,and Mark Ruffalo starred in a 2007 movie about the Zodiac Killer simply called Zodiac. It is based on the true story of how San Francisco area reporters and detectives tried to catch him, but failed to do so.
