Moscow political scientist Valery Solovei told The Sun “There is a family, it has a great influence on him. He intends to make public his handover plans in January.”

According to the reports the president’s  37-year-old lover, Alina Kabaeva, and his two daughters are pushing him to leave office.

Solovei also told the Sun, Putin may be suffering from Parkinson’s as the president has been seen recently exhibiting symptoms of the disease.

The Sun reported that footage shows Putin in agony while appearing to constantly shift his legs and fingers twitching as he held a cup that possibly contained medicine, according to the report.

Recently, Russian lawmakers are considering legislation proposed by Putin that would grant ex-presidents lifetime immunity from criminal prosecution.
