There are many countries and cities around the world where start-ups not only can establish themselves but to develop into hugely successful firms. We would all expect familiar places like London, Berlin, Singapore, and Toronto. However, that doesn’t mean that lesser know places can’t be ideal for start-ups too.
Another location that may not immediately come to mind is Tel Aviv, Israel, which is actually at the top of the list for the best startup cities. In fact, Tel Aviv is a hub of activity when it comes to gaming start-ups, with the city littered with a range of exciting ones. And we’ve done our best to select a few of the most promising ones below.

Zengaming
Zengaming , which was founded back in 2015, already has key investors on board in Crown Resorts, 500 Startups and NFX. As a start-up they’re looking to become key players in the rapidly growing eSports industry by offering people the chance to connect with each other on their platform. In a way, it’s a platform which sees social media meet LinkedIn, with eSports players, fans and teams able to create profiles, look for teams, search out sponsors, and generally get to know each other.
Skillzzgaming
Skillzzgaming in its simplest form is a mobile game development studio which was founded in 2014. They can call on William Hill and Imarks as investors, with thousands ploughed in so far. The focus of Skillzzgaming is on the casual gaming market, where they’re looking to design games for mobile platforms that see players win money. Winning is entirely based on luck, with the studio releasing their first title a year after being established. Mega Money Rush, which is a racing game, was their debut title, with other games like Pets Go Wild and Fruit Blast following on from that.
Baba Entertainment
Baba Entertainment was launched in Tel-Aviv in 2015 as a social network development firm which was looking to develop games and apps that could be played in-browser. There’s a focus by Baba Entertainment to go down the casino game path, which is proving to be very popular around the world right now. Their games can be played on desktop, tablet and smart TV, as well as mobile devices, which also suits the continuing gaming on the go trend. Their Baba Wild Slots release is quite something, showing a lot of promise where this start-up is concerned.
P-Kama
P-Kama was founded over a decade ago, receiving around $2M in funding so far. Their focus is on the social gaming market, and as a development team they have managed to create a platform which sees social networking and social games combine brilliantly. Their multi-player online family entertainment platform is quite innovative, with the social media like capabilities helping to take it forward. Users can instant message other users of the platform via voice and text, while also being able to set up their own personal profiles. There are plenty of customisation options to get stuck into as well.
