El Al’s Sun D’Or to launch first Israel-Japan flights in September


Israel’s El Al Airlines charter unit Sun D’Or starting to operate its first direct flights to Japan in September, according to Globes.

Currently, there are two flights scheduled from Ben Gurion Airport to Tokyo’s Narita airport. The September flights will be chartered by three Japanese travel agencies. The flights will take 12.5 hours and 11.5 hours between Israel-Japan. This is a saving of four hours on the shortest routes, which currently require connection flights.

After the first two flights, the route will become permanent for direct flights.
