Mahan airline, which has been on a United States sanctions list since 2011, has four weekly flights between Tehran-Duesseldorf and Munich.

The Islamic Republic’s second-largest carrier is accused of carrying out spying operations, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are planning military attacked in the Netherlands, France, and Denmark and Brussels .
The German government source told Reuters that the flight did not constitute general sanctions against Iran. But the German media claim several European Union countries mull additional sanctions on Iran following alleged terrorist plots on the continent.
