Water Show
When you get done checking out all the flowers at the most paying Vegas casinos just head out front and watch the free water show. This choreographed display is a music and light show that happens regularly every 15 minutes during the evening hours and every 30 minutes each afternoon.
Shelby Heritage Center
You don’t have to be a gearhead to enjoy the Shelby Heritage Center. The small museum inside Shelby American showcases roughly two dozen cars from the first Shelby Cobra to several incarnations of the Mustang. Free guided tours of the museum and production floor are given twice daily on weekdays and once on Saturday. Self-guided tours are available daily.
Downtown Container Park
Made entirely of shipping containers, the Downtown Container Park is an open-air retail center where you can see free concerts, art shows, and movies. Come after dark to watch the 55-foot-tall praying mantis at the entrance shoot fire out of its antennae to a pulsating soundtrack. Nearby, check out the refurbished neon signs in the Fremont East Entertainment District, which links the Downtown Container Park to the Fremont Street Experience.
Enjoy Free Drinks
Drinks are free in Las Vegas as long as you’re spending money into a machine or playing at one of the table games. You can, however, get free drinks if you’re just standing around in the Casino or watching someone else play. The trick is to tip well. It sounds simple but if you’re sitting at the quarter slots, tip the waitress $2, and you might find that she’s back by the time you’re ready for your next drink. Free drinks aren’t yet extinct but do not be surprised if you sit at a video poker machine and are told you have not played enough for a complimentary cocktail. The policy is slowly changing on free drinks in Las Vegas.
Pinball Hall of Fame
Located just off the strip, the Pinball Hall of Fame is a 10,000 square foot building filled to the brim with pinball machines! It was exciting to see pinball machines from the 1950s all the way to present day, and there were a handful of other classic arcade games too. Also If you spend money here, all your money goes to charity.
Ethel M Chocolate Factory
Take a self-guided tour, eat free samples and watch the chocolate being made from behind large glass windows. You can also walk through the four-acre Botanical Cactus Garden, the largest in Nevada.
