Iran: Dreadful Future Awaits The World if Nuclear Deal Falls Apart

Speaking during a conference of experts held in Norway, Salehi reiterated Iran’s claim that its nuclear program is meant for peace purposes only.

According to Iran daily, he said the international community showed a severe reaction to US President Donald Trump’s policy against Iran. “If the European Union and other countries supporting the JCPOA do not demonstrate their practical opposition to the US policies in due time, they will face a dreadful future and unprecedented insecurity in the region and the world because of the JCPOA’s collapse,” Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said.

President Trump announces US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal

Trump announced on his walking away from the nuclear deal with Iran May 8. He also said he would impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic. The nuclear agreement with Iran was reached in 2015 with the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China – plus Germany –  The five permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Four days later Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in a phone call that the Islamic Republic will quit the multilateral nuclear agreement if it does not benefit from the deal after the US pullout.
