British internet users want the third royal baby to be called Prince Arthur

Israeli startup Spot.IM says legendary hero’s name for Kate and William’s third son is favorite among UK internet comments, followed by Philip, Albert, Frederick and James

 

According to a talkbacks analysis, most British surfers want the third son of Prince William and Kate Middleton to be called Arthur. The name proposal accounted for 22% of the most popular offers, according to Israeli startup Spot. IM, which scanned the network’s discussions on British news websites.

The name Arthur was equally ranked to other popular names that suggested by the surfers. But after Prince William was caught in a video saing “Here’s Arthur” when he shows the baby in public, Arthur become a favorite.

Talkbacks adopted the name and ranked it at the top with the support of 22 percent. Other suggested names were Philip 19%, Albert 18%, Frederick 11%, James 11%, Thomas 10% and Edward 9%.

King Arthur and his historical existence is debated and disputed by modern historians.  The details of Arthur’s story are mainly composed of folklore and literary invention. According to medieval histories and romances, he led the defense of Britain against Saxon invaders in the late 5th and early 6th centuries AD.

Nadav Shoval, CEO of Spot.IM said: “The wave of positive news generated by the coverage of the birth of the British royal family has led to almost no violence or a split in the people. We are used to the fact that almost every news issue produces offensive talkbacks that we must remove, it is enjoyable to see such positive news that creates a clean and positive dialogue among surfers. ”

The announcement of the birth of the baby took place yesterday, Sunday, April 23. The baby was born at 11:01, weighing 3.8 pounds and is fifth in order to inherit the British throne.
