Turkish Airlines has started offering round trips from Istanbul to Jerusalem for only $159, Turkey’s Hurriyet Daily News reports. The flights are in response to a social media campaign called #ThyKudüseİndirimYap” (Turkish Airlines make a discount to Jerusalem) on Twitter initiated by citizens calling for a discount.
The Turkey’s flagship carrier CEO Bilal Ekşi stated:

Temple Mount Crisis: Erdogan calls on Muslims to defend Jerusalem
The demand to visit Jerusalem coming as a result of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s call on Muslims to visit Temple Mount and Al Aqsa mosque in solidarity with the Palestinians against Israeli attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, amid the Temple Mount recent Crisis. “Israel is trying to steal Al-Aqsa from the Muslims under the claims of terrorism,” he said.
Erdogan added: “Israel’s legitimacy only makes sense as long as it respects the rights of the Palestinians: Israel is aware that the restrictions on entry to al-Aqsa do not stem from security considerations.”
Temple Mount is venerated by Muslims and Jews and knew high tension in recent days.
The round trip from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport on the Asian side to Jerusalem agencies.
