A New Jersey accountant Scott Blumstein won the World Series of Poker, the Texas Hold’em tournament at the center of the championship event in Las Vegas. He earned over $ 8.1 million after beating Daniel Ott of Pennsylvania in the 246th round of the final table.

Ott, who finished second, earned $4.7 million. It was the first time he and Blumstein had played in the main tournament. So far, Blumstein has played in online tournaments, since New Jersey is one of the only three countries in the US where online poker is legal: “The best way to get better at everything is through rehearsals and training,” he said. Blumstein, Ott and seven other players climbed to the final table after beating over 7,200 participants.
