This year’s list of top 10 winners is dominated by airports based in the Middle East (4) and Asia (4), with only 2 European airports Zurich and Amsterdam’s Schiphol.
For the fifth year running, Singapore Changi Airport takes the no. 1 spot. The award-winning design airport is the home for Singapore Airlines, which is also a World’s Best winner.
The facilities at the airport including a sunflower garden, napping lounges, spa, and a rooftop pool, movie theaters, and waterfalls. “One particular benefit is the airport’s pre-customs,” adds the magazine. “In-terminal hotels, which rent rooms in six-hour blocks. This timetable allows travelers to book a room for a long layover or to rest before an early morning flight.”
The modern Ben Gurion Airport features a giant fountain that sprinkles water from the ceiling, an indoor playground for children, business lounges, various duty-free stores, restaurants, and art exhibitions.
