The Moore family in Newton Falls, about 55 miles southeast of Cleveland, was chosen, after Zuckerberg had asked his staff to find Democrats who voted for President Donald Trump for presidency, according to Vindicator.
Moore voted for former President Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, campaigned heavily for Trump. Zuckerberg’s staff found him quoted in an article on cleveland.com.
Daniel and Lisa Moore have learned about their spacial guest just 20 minutes before dinner. “I knew we were having a mystery guest, and that was about it,” Moore told the news paper. “It was completely incredible.”
In January, Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that he was challenging himself to visit people in all 50 states. Now he is midst of a nationwide tour.
The family says not all the dinner focused on politics. The moors talked about their work with an orphanage in Uganda. While Zuckerberg said he’s now planning a fundraiser to benefit the orphans.
In a statement Zuckerberg said: “I’ve spent significant time in many states already, so I’ll need to travel to about 30 states this year to complete this challenge. After a tumultuous last year, my hope for this challenge is to get out and talk to more people about how they’re living, working and thinking about the future.”
“We got to know a very cool guy,” Moore told Vindicator. “Just down-to-earth and real easy to talk to.”
WKBN reports that earlier the same day, Zuckerberg mate with Muslim students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He said most of them were immigrants and told him about their experiences in violent war zones.
Later Zuckerberg traveled to Eastern Gateway Community College in Youngstown to learn about their machining and welding programs and to meet with students.
