A Russian Oligarch got Mariah Carey and Elton John to perform at his granddaughter’s wedding. Valery Kogan spent 3.5 million GBP ($4.2 million) on the two’s performances alone for the occasion of his granddaughter Irene Kogan’s marriage to Daniel Kevey.

Antonio Banderas and Mark Ronson were among the other celebrities in attendance.
Valery Kogan and his business partner Dmitry Kamenshchik own Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, the largest in Eastern Europe. With an estimated net worth of $1.75 billion, Forbes places Kogan at number 687 on the list of the world’s billionaires. So the millions that he spent on the wedding is nothing but spare change for the rest of us. Kogan also spent $100 million to build the most luxurious mansion in Israel, located in the seaside town of Caesarea north of Tel Aviv. In 2013, he paid a record $31 million for a 11, 000 square foot apartment in the country.

Apparently it cost $3 million just for Mariah Carey and the rest went to Sir Elton John. At least that’s what the Daily Mail has reported. Maybe Carey got more because she had to travel a greater distance, but come on, of course Sir Elton is the greater performer. And he did a 12 song set. Mariah also changed her outfit a dozen times during the party and danced with the bride.

Elton John sang his classic “Tiny Dancer, ” during which he turned to Irene Kogan and said, “She’s not that tiny, but I know she’s a really good dancer because I can see her down there.”
Mariah Carey sand “We Belong Together.”
Wow! Talk about a traditional Jewish wedding! And Mariah Carey certainly dressed in a conservative and in no way provocative outfit which would surely be acceptable at any Hasidic wedding.

So would you want Mariah Carey to perform at your granddaughter’s wedding? More importantly, would you pay her $3 million to do so.
