The original film starred Lee Strasberg, George Burns and Art Carney as the three elderly men who choose to rob a bank. But in the original they did so mostly out of boredom and a desire to show that they could still do something at their age. The trailer for the remake gives the characters a completely different motivation.

In the new movie the heroes are desperate after some sort of bank fraud depleted their pension funds and left them broke. After several unwanted remakes in recent years which not only bombed at the box office, but also did damage to the reputations of the original movies, we hope that this will not prove to happen again with “Going in Style.”

But director Zach Braff has not had a very good track record and this is his first attempt at a big budget film.
