Amy Schumer plays Emily, a spontaneous woman in her 30s. After getting dumped suddenly by her boyfriend, Amy persuades her ultra-cautious mom played by Goldie Hawn to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador. The mother daughter duo then seek out adventure, but find themselves kidnapped. When these two very different women are trapped on this wild journey, their bond as mother and daughter is tested and strengthened while they attempt to navigate the jungle and escape.

Wanda Sykes, Christopher Meloni and Collin Quinn also star in “Snatched.”

Goldie Hawn was kind of like the Amy Schumer of her day. If you see old movies like “Private Benjamin” then you will see that the two women share a similar type of comedy. But the similarities end there. Unlike Schumer, who has been “fat shamed” over the last few years, Goldie Hawn was always considered to be a sex symbol going back to her days as the dancing bikini girl on “Laugh In” back in the 60s.

Now Goldie Hawn is going for her first buddy movie together with a woman half her age. But there is nothing original about pairing a child with a parent or grandparent in comedic adventures any more. So will Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer make “Snatched” worth the price of admission? Well we’ll find out in six months.
