Jerry Springer thinks that Donald Trump belongs more on daytime TV than in the White House. The daytime talk show host also feels that the television news channels “won” Trump the election.

The comments were made by Springer in an interview with The Daily Beast. It should be remembered, though, that Springer is a Democrat who was a big Hillary Clinton supporter. But as someone who has made a living off of the crazy side of the “real America” for the last 25 years, he should certainly be considered an expert on the issue of who should be on his show. And no one has ever felt that a Jerry Springer guest was in any way Presidential.
“I’ve been tweeting all year that Hillary Clinton belongs in the White House and Donald Trump belongs on my show. Except that he can’t come on—because they pull hair, ” said Springer.
On how television helped Trump he added, “Since television is in the entertainment business, it’s not unthinkable that they would move toward Trump more quickly than print media would. When you’re cable news and trying to fill airtime 24-7, Trump was just low-hanging fruit.”

Jerry Springer is not alone in his assessment. In spite of Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the media for treating him unfairly, he actually received more coverage than anyone else by far during the primaries and after. CNN cut to live broadcasts of Trump’s public appearances much more than it did Hillary Clinton’s.
