President-elect Donald Trump is seeking top secret security clearances for his children, sources told CBS News.

Last week Trump’s team asked the White House to examine the possibility of getting his kids top secret security clearances.

Under current rules regarding nepotism, none of Trump’s children can be hired to work in the White House or in the Cabinet. On the other hand, people do not need to be government officials to receive top secret security clearances.

Trump has announced that his children will administrate his business empire in order to avoid any potential conflict of interest when he is President. Some people argue, however, that this will constitute a conflict of Interest for Trump. Many are calling for him to place all of his business interests into a blind trust as previous Presidents and Federal officials have done.

While the current White House might resist granting them clearances, CBS points out that when Trump becomes president he would be authorized to make the request himself.
