Bloomberg News Sued For Sex Discrimination

BLOOMBERG

Bloomberg News is being sued for firing a woman just because she complained about gender bias. At least this is what her suit claims.

According to a report in The New York Post, Christine Staiti was fired by Bloomberg after she complained that senior editorial positions all went to men at the organization.

The suit was filed with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Apparently Staiti, who worked for Bloomberg for 15 years, had sent an e mail to her boss which read, in part, “When there is an opening for a new editor or team leader, the position often isn’t posted and, invariably, a man is chosen for it. Quite often, it’s somebody who either has no editing experience or doesn’t know the topic, when there are more qualified women who would have applied.”

Bloomberg News has yet to comment on the allegations.
