Israeli startup Beyond Verbal, a voice-driven emotions analytics, has raised $3 million as part of a Series A round, led by KuangChi Science Limited, a member of the Kuang-Chi group. The investment has been made by China’s KuangChi Group as part of a Series A round.

The technology has been developed based on research in science of emotions that started in 1995. Yuval Mor, CEO of Beyond Verbal: “Beyond Verbal has long sought a partner in China, and we found precisely what we were looking for in Kuang-Chi, a company whose leadership is determined to change the world. This funding will enable us to enhance our world leadership position, and continue our efforts into researching the connection between vocal intonation and health issues.”
The investment follows the May 2016 launch of Kuang-Chi’s $300 million Global Community of Innovation (GCI) fund, allotted for investments in “future life” technologies.
Dr. Ruopeng Liu, Chairman of Kuang-Chi said: “Beyond Verbal’s technology is both innovative and highly advanced, with limitless potential. This new partnership is bound to result in the development of new and exciting technologies with benefits in a variety of fields from healthcare to artificial intelligence.”
Kuang-Chi seeks investments in technologically disruptive early to mid-stage Israeli and global companies in robotics, machine vision, aviation, and related technology sectors. Portfolio companies receive the full support of Kuang-Chi’s corporate resources, from sales and marketing to joint tech development.
In addition to Kuang-Chi, technology funds Winnovation and Singulariteam participated in the round, which will be used to finance continued R&D in the health and wellness space, as well as the commercialization of Beyond Verbal’s technology in the emotions space.
