Aquazzura, Italian luxury footwear maker is sueing Ivanka Trump for copying the company’s copyright design to a popular sandal, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court. Three other companies working with Trump name in the lawsuit, including Marc Fisher.

Aquazzura is accusing Trump, who has her own fashion collection, for “repeated infringement” and “deceptive trade practices” its sandal “Wild Thing, ” with fringe covering the toes and suede tassel fringe atop an oh-so-high heel.
The Italian fashion company referred to in court documents as one of the brand’s best-known and best-selling models, citing Magazine Harper’s Bazaar as celebrities have been “parading the red carpet” in these sandales, including singer Solange Knowles and Olivia Palermo.
According to the complain Ivanka is “Seeking the same success Aquazzura experienced but without having to put in the hard creative work, defendants resorted to knocking off plaintiff’s popular designs.”
The Wild Thing sandals retail price is $785. Trump’s sandal dubbed the Hettie, listed sale price of $145.
Aquazzura said it previously complained to Trump about copying two other shoe design called “Forever Marilyn” and “Belgravia”.
The Italian company seeks an accounting of Trump’s profits from the shoe, plus damages and attorney fees.
Trump and the other defendants reportedly halted sales of one of those models, and filed a lawsuit for a declaration of non-infringement of copyright on the other, the lawsuit said.
