Perlman was chosen as this year’s laureate due to his unique contributions to humanity as a musician and educator, his accomplishments on behalf of individuals with disabilities around the world, and his loyalty to the State of Israel. The prize will be dedicated to supporting special initiatives chosen by Perlman, including programming to enhance accessibility and inclusion for individuals with disabilities and acceleration for the development of talented young musicians.
