The billionaire David and Simon Reuben have confirmed they plan to go ahead with a redevelopment of the Labour Party’s former headquarters now be converted into luxury flats.
Reuben brothers are planning to develop 32-storey Millbank Tower. The skyscraper on the banks of the River Thames, half a mile upstream from the Palace of Westminster.

The tower has been owned by David and Simon Reuben since 2002, while still being managed by its former owner Tishman Speyer Properties. As a Grade II listed skyscraper, Millbank’s physical form will always be preserved, and its iconic status prevented from falling into the hands of redevelopers. The Grade II-listed will be turned into 207 appartments with a skybar. A 150-bedroom hotel will also be built.
A spokesman for the Reuben Brothers told the Standard: “We believe that we have devised an exciting project.. We are convinced of the fundamentals of the residential market, particularly in this great location with its commanding views of the Thames and the rest of London.”
The redevelopment will not take place however in the near future, add the Standart, because the buildings are fully let for almost three years. Some office space could be retained subject to planning permission.
