23 dead, 35 severely wounded in explosions at Brussels airport; explosion at Brussels metro stop

Two explosions occurred Tuesday morning in a departure hall at Brussels airport; Belgian TV report 23 dead and 35 severely wounded; at least one suicide bomber one Israeli reported wounded; another explosion occurred at a subway stop in Brussels.

Two explosions occurred Tuesday morning in a departure hall at Brussels airport. At least one person is reported dead and several injured.

At around 9am Israel time two loud explosions were heard at the airport. The airport has been closed down and completely evacuated.

Belgian police are reporting at least one dead and 10 wounded. Belgian TV reported “several dead”. Belgian news agency Belga reported that prior to the attacks gunfire was heard and cries in Arabic were heard.

A journalist at a duty free shop in the airport said that the explosions were “very loud, the whole buiding shook”.

Belgium is on high terror alert. Paris attacks suspect Abdeslam was caught on Friday and was planning on carrying out other attacks.
