Definitely one of the most anticipated albums this year is Sam Smith’s follow-up to the massively successful “In The Lonely Hour.”
In a recent interview with The Associate Press, Sam Smith calls his new album “f-ing great” and he can’t wait for fans to hear it.
“It’s really deep s-t that’s coming out-that’s all I say, ” Sam Smith told The Associated Press (via The Rolling Stone) adding that with the new album, he is exploring new emotional territory. “Every day I’m having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I’m putting my heart even more out on the f-king line. I’m going even deeper. I can’t believe I’m even doing it, but I’m going even deeper.”

Furthermore, Sam Smith describes his upcoming new LP as a “beautiful little transition” from “In The Lonely Hour. He also added that although “In The Lonely Hour” was a great album altogether, there’s one song he really despises.
“There’s a few songs I really f-ing hate, but then the core of the album, songs like ‘Stay With Me, ‘ ‘I’m Not The Only One’-actually all songs except ‘Money On My Mind’-I really love and I’m really proud of the classic-ness of the way they sound, because I still listen to them now and I still love them, ” Sam Smith said.
According to Billboard, The “Writings on the Wall” singer also added that back in 2012, when he was starting to make a name in the United Kingdom, there was some confusion about the musical direction he want to take especially when he became a featured act in Disclosure’s dance song, “Latch.”
“As soon as ‘Latch’ had a lot of success in U.K., my label and me had a little bit of a panic. We were like, ‘Maybe we should be doing dance?’ And that’s what I can hear on [my first] album-there’s two or three songs where I can hear the little wobble, but the rest of the album is what I set out to make from the beginning, ” Sam Smith said.
And he quickly clarified, “But I still love my album, but I’m loving my new one f-ing more.”
