The room was listed on the rental website for two weeks before school officials ordered him to remove it, Worth told the Boston Globe.
Worth has refused to say how much he charged for the one-night stay at the 12-storey dorm.
He told the Globe he only wanted to “make a little bit of extra money” to offset college expenses.
The 19-year-old student has received support online and on social media, following the launch of a “Free Jack Worth” hashtag.
A petition on Change.org has garnered more than 400 signatures as of Wednesday.
An Airbnb spokesman told the AP news agency that all hosts are asked to follow local regulations when renting a room.
