One of Diesel’s faces of summer is Israeli model Stav Strashko, a 24-year-old male model known for strutting down the catwalk in both male and female apparel. The brand’s creative director, Nicola Formichetti, tapped Strashko, Joe Jonas, Kiko Mizuhara and Trevor Signorino for the advertising campaign.
The 1.8 meter tall (5ft 11) model appeared in Diesel advertisements in 2014 but this year he has been chosen for a top slot in the edgy fashion chain’s summer campaign.

Strashko appears in both women’s and men’s clothes in the new campaign.
“I’m happy I’m making it in the big leagues now, ” the Ukrainian-born, Israeli-raised Strashko told Yediot Aharonot Hebrew daily. “It’s always a great pleasure to work with Diesel which has broken stigmas about gender and beauty in its campaign in recent years. I’m proud that I have the opportunity to be part of this movement that is bringing change to the world and is opening people’s eyes to a truth one cannot ignore – there is no single type of beauty or conventional gender and we need to abandon this fixation.”
Strashko is often dubbed as an “androgynous model” by the fashion world. He breaks all the rules of modeling. His slender figure and elegant cheekbones make him a big draw for top fashion and commercial brands regardless of whether they need a male or female model.
In 2012, Toyota shocked the ad world when the Japanese car company paid Strashko £35, 000 to pose in red bikini bottoms and stilettos. Strashko has also appeared in ads worldwide for Ray-Ban, L’Oreal and Diesel.
