Goldie Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell have been living together for 32 years, most of the time happily that has outlasted most Hollywood marriages.
When Hawn, 70, is asked the secret to her long-lasting relationship with Russell, 64, she says there’s no “perfect relationship.”
“We have our ups and downs live everybody else, ” the star tells
PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “You have to want to stay together, and we really want to. Therefore you work to be together.”
“Sometimes I get mad and sometimes Kurt gets mad. It’s normal. Continuing to listen and grow is important because we get into bad habits in relationships. We’re cognizant of these things in our relationships, being mindful and caring and listening, ” she said.
Recently, Russell joked about those marriage rumors that pop up every few years about the couple, who have never tied the knot.
“They trot that one out every four or five years, now that we’re four hundred years old…no, unfortunately, for those that need to hear yes [married] , I do not have good news, ” he told Extra.
